Fine Print Tip: How To Get a Refund for Crest Whitening Strips

Whether you’re a committed tooth-brusher or your dentist hates to see you coming, sometimes you want a little extra help to make your smile look its best. So, when the whitening strips you paid for don’t live up to the claims on the box, it’s disappointing!

I’ve purchased strips, followed all the instructions perfectly, and my teeth looked exactly the same.

Here's something most people don't know: Crest actually has a money-back guarantee on all their whitening products. It comes with a catch, so here’s what you need to know.

Erika Taught Me

  • You can get a full refund within 60 days of buying any Crest whitening product.
  • Your refund comes as a prepaid debit card that expires in six months.
  • You only get one refund per household — ever.

. . .

What Crest's Refund Policy Actually Says

Crest will give you back the money you spent on their whitening products if you're not happy with the results — for any reason! This includes Crest Whitestrips, Whitening Emulsions, Daily Whitening Serum, and even their whitening rinse.

Maybe one box of strips didn’t do anything, the strips made your teeth sensitive, or your teeth are still discolored. You don’t need a complicated reason. If you’re dissatisfied, that’s valid, and you can get your money back!

The clock does tick for this refund, and you must submit your request for a refund within 60 days of purchasing the product.

How To Get Your Money Back (Step-by-Step)

Here's exactly what you need to do:

  1. Grab your receipt and circle the purchase price and date (remember, submit within 60 days of purchasing)
  2. Call Crest at 1-866-314-5964 to start your claim
  3. Cut out the UPC code from your product box, which is the barcode and 12-digit number found on the product label
  4. Write a letter with:
    • Your full name
    • Mailing address
    • Phone number
    • Date of birth
    • Why you want a refund
  5. Make copies of everything (you never know when your mail might get lost!)
  6. Mail it all to: Crest Whitening Products, Whitening MBG, Dept P19290724, PO Box 1108, Grand Rapids MN 55745-1108

You might want to spring for tracking on your envelope. Crest won't replace lost mail, and you don't want to waste your one-time refund opportunity!

The Fine Print You Need to Know

There is a catch, though: You only get one refund per household for life. Not per year — for life!

So if you're thinking about trying multiple Crest products, wait until you've tested them all before requesting your refund.

They’ll send you a prepaid debit card, but it expires in six months and you can't cash it out. Mark the expiration date on your calendar as soon as you get it so you don’t accidentally forget about it.

FAQs

How long will it take to get my refund?

You should receive your refund within six to eight weeks.

If it's been more than eight weeks since you mailed everything, call the number on the Crest website for customer support. Keep your tracking number handy if you used one.

Do I need the original receipt?

Yes. A photo or photocopy won't work.

What if I already threw away the box?

Unfortunately, you need that original UPC code. No box, no refund.

Can I get a refund after 60 days?

Nope — Crest is strict about this one. Count 60 days from your purchase date.

TL;DR: Using Crest’s Moneyback Guarantee

Getting your money back from Crest isn't complicated — you just need to know the rules.

Once you purchase a Crest Whitening product, save the packaging and keep your eye on the calendar in case it doesn’t live up to your expectations. You’ll need to request your refund within 60 days.

I'm a graduate of Georgetown Law, where I founded the Georgetown Law Entrepreneurship Club, and the University of Notre Dame. I discovered my passion for personal finance after realizing I was drowning in over $200,000 of student debt and needed to take action-ultimately paying off my student loans in under 2 years. I then spent years as a corporate lawyer representing Fortune 500 companies, but I quit because I realized I wanted to have an impact; I wanted to help real people and teach them that you can create a financial future for yourself.
